RCCG Hymn 650
Once I Fought to Conquer Sin
"Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh the sin of the world." - John 1:29
Once I fought to conquer sin, While it reigned my soul within; Till my Saviour came one day: Then He triumphed over all When He heard my pleading call And He took my sins away.
Chorus
He took my sins away, Took them all away, Christ the Saviour took my sins away; Contentment fills my soul, His spirit has control, Since Jesus took my sins away.
O the wonder working pow'r In that happy, blessed hour When my Saviour spoke to me, And I heard the precious word From this wonder working Lord, When from sin He set me free.
Are you struggling for the right, Jesus has the pow'r and might; He will help you conquer sin; He will take its pow'r away, He will come with you to stay, And will give you peace within.
